A Catholic Christmas Gift Guide: Ideas at Every Budget

A Catholic gift does not need to be expensive to mean something. The best ones are small enough to carry, lasting enough to keep, and tied to a story the person already loves, whether that is Lourdes, Knock or a favourite saint. Here are ideas from our shop for every budget, and for the kind of person you are buying for, with the practical details on postage at the end.

Up to €5: stocking fillers

€7 to €12: gifts to keep at home

€13.50 and up: bigger gifts

By person: who are you buying for?

Someone who loves Lourdes. The Grotto statue, the Lourdes purses and the Malespine lozenges are all made for them. Our post What Is Lourdes Water? makes a good companion to read alongside, and so does the story of the Grotto of Massabielle.

Someone who loves Knock. Choose the Our Lady of Knock Medal, the 50th Anniversary Medal or the Knock Shrine Purse. The two 500-piece Knock jigsaws, Knock Apparition Mosaic and Hail Queen of Heaven, are available to pre-order and ship from 26 October. To know the story behind them, read Our Lady of Knock: The Silent Apparition That Built Marian Holy Art.

A young person, or a Carlo Acutis fan. The T-shirts, the Carlo Acutis Youth Ireland Cap (€5) and the prayer cards are the easy choices. For the story behind them, see Saint Carlo Acutis: Your Questions Answered, and browse the whole range in Carlo's Shop. Every order from Carlo's Shop supports Carlo Acutis Ireland's relic visits and school outreach work.

A child. The Paper Pups Origami Kit (€15) is a quiet, creative activity with no scissors or glue. My Fun Patch (€10) is a collection of fun facts about football and other sports for young readers, signed by the author, David Geraghty, and ships free within Ireland. For a Communion or Confirmation, see First Holy Communion Gift Ideas.

Someone caring for a loved one. The Dementia Prayer Card (€5) is a prayer card for people affected by dementia and the families who care for them, with a space to write in a name. David writes about the subject in Dementia, Alzheimer's and Us: A Reflection from David.

Postage and when to order

All orders are processed within one to two business days, and you will be sent a tracking number once your parcel is dispatched. Here is what to expect, taken from our delivery page:

  • Ireland: An Post Standard is €6 for medals and €7 for everything else, usually five to seven business days. Orders over €49 ship free.
  • Postage included: items marked “Postage Included”, such as our books and the Pick Any 3 Purses offer at €15, ship free within Ireland whatever the order total.
  • European Union: €10 with An Post International.
  • Rest of the world: €14.99 with An Post Priority International Tracked. Customs duties and taxes are the buyer's responsibility.

In Ireland that adds up to roughly six to nine business days from order to doorstep, and longer abroad, so please order early in December at the latest, and sooner if you can. The exact cost is always shown at checkout before you pay.
