On 21st August 1879, Our Lady appeared to fifteen witnesses at the gable wall of Knock church in County Mayo, Ireland. In the decades that followed, Knock grew into one of the world’s great Marian shrines. The Basilica of Our Lady, Queen of Ireland was consecrated in 1976, welcoming pilgrims from every corner of the globe.
